Welcome, Annie! That is a great attitude to start off with. I suggest that you begin by doing as much research as you can about addiction and nicotine addiction in particular. Use the Quit Program Workbook here on this site. Search the web for other support and information as well. The American Lung Association has lots of great information. Also, immerse yourself in the forums...they will provide an incredible education in what others have found. Good luck to you!

annie,
Welcome to our support community! Way to get our attention! Preparation is essential to your quit and it can really help. Use whatever you need to keep from smoking and take this week-end to cut back and prepare.
Being ready will help, and know that we are always here for support and knowledge.
Ready when you are :)

Hi I'm new and I have yet set my quit date. Planning on next week. I have smoked for 30 years or so and I'm sick, sick, sick of it. This is going to be tough, but I with this site and faith in myself, I am hoping to suceed.. Any suggestions would be helpful..
Thanks guys,
Annie
