Hi. Mary... For the last 5 days or so I have cut my Champix back to one a day and there haven't been any repercussions as yet. Have you been taking the Champix on an empty stomach maybe? Lots of great advice here for you anyway... Take whatever you need to stay away from tobacco... Hi Mary, I am taking Champix and just like you I am having the nightmares too and the sick feeling, I am told that it's the same for most people who are taking them. I have decided to ween myself off them just take one every other day. But I do agree with you they are very hard on the system. The guys on the site here tell me to drink lots of water and chew gum do anything but don't quit quiting. Good luck My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/2/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 47 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,410 Amount Saved: 514.65 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 12 Mins: 16 Seconds: 24

Hey Mary, Best to check with your Doc. You could be allergic or sensitive to Chantix. If you can get by with out the patch that is fine, but don't leave yourself up the creek. If the cravings are really bad, then do what is best for you. The patch isn't the end of the world, it will just prolong things a bit for you! Hang in there! You are doing well! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 349 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 8,725 Amount Saved: $3,681.95 Life Gained: Days: 45 Hrs: 21 Mins: 19 Seconds: 38

if it were me, mary, i would stop now. You don't want to have to go through strong withdrawals again. Thank's so much. I have already used one patch. But it is time for a new one. I was scared of putting nictone back in my system. To late now. Maybe i should just stop using them while i am ahead. I don't think one could do to much damage. Thank you all Mary My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/13/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 66 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,036 Amount Saved: $455.40 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 18 Mins: 9 Seconds: 35

Mary, Many of us weaned down off of chantix, much like you did. Did you try to go without anything? By using the patch you are adding nicotine back into your system. You had over two months without any nicotine, so I'd think long and hard about re-introducing it. Good luck whatever you decide to do. Hi all I have a question for anybody using Chantix. I have been on it for about 3 months now. I am getting so i can't stand it anymore. The nightmares are horrialbe & when you take one even with food. It just makes you feel sick all day. I am suppose to take 2 a day. but i have only been taking one. For the last couple days i havn't taken any. Went back to using the patch. Is this wrong? Am i setting myself up for something. I don't no which way to turn. Why am i so dang hard to live with ? Maybe they should put me in a rubber room.
