I'm feeling much better now - You guys are so awsom for being so understanding! I've also began journaling again on my LJ. I worry that spending so much time doing any activity, including being on the internet or journaling is just another escape or addiction, but I guess it's better than the alternatives. peteg? My husband? I worry too. Definitely in the minority here, and totally in touch with the diaster that is MM's life, but me, I'm kinda worried about the husband. peteg My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/25/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 0 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 3 Mins: 57 Seconds: 30

And I thought I was having a bad day yesterday. Yes.. close the shades. pop in a movie and snuggle with the family. Guess you will be getting a csn of white paint.. My suggestion.. get only the crayola washable markers.. and make your husband wash and paint the wall, since he was in the twilight zone when this was happening. I've had days like that, Misty. Rolling down the shutters is a good cure... start again tomorrow. Yeah MJ - I've been finding the silver lining. I meen, what if both cars had broke down while I still lived in that nice neighborhood up on the hill? I could bike to the grocery store, but I sure wouldn't be getting home to fast! LOL! I'm still kind of freeking out and have just taken the day off to decompress and get over myself. Oh my gosh, MM! Your life is just far to complicated at the moment. I am by no means trivializing your catastrophes, but it has been my experience that all Hell breaks loose, and then things improve. It is a natural rhythm of life. I think that you are due for an upswing very soon. Hang in there, and best wishes that this happens VERY SOON. You know - I don't exactly know how many things can go wrong at the same time. I also don't know how to stop and journal when i'm in the middle of just so much stuff! This weekend, my new house leeked in the rain storm we had - the lovely landlord's handy man said it was condensation from the AC unit and my husband just said "Oh, ok" and let it go! Then my son took the car to the grocery store for me for a gallon of milk while I fixed dinner, and the car BLEW UP! while he was out and he had to push it home.. by by car. Then the VERY NEXT DAY - the altenator went on my van and I am now without any transportation at all! The van broke down for me yesterday in the parking lot of the store, and while I sat there trying to figure out how to get home - 15 - 20 police cars showed up.. a woman got raped on the other side of the parking lot. In broad daylight. Ahhh.. my new neighborhood. *nods* I'm trying very very hard not to have this whole catastrophizing thing going on.. but, you know what? This is a catastrophy. MistyMoonlight, One way of taking time for yourself and to regroup is to journal your thoughts and ideas. This can help you vent and relieve built up tension and stress. Sylvie, Bilingual Health Educator

Well, I guess I don't exactly know how to do that, Danielle. I thought that's what I was doing by thinking about it, and trying to re-work my thoughts and by trying to see the possitives of the move and all. But - it didn't work... it was obviously still building. Help? Well done MM! The thoughts you described are similar to a cognitive distortion also known as catastrophizing. I would encourage you in the future to perhaps take more time outs for yourself to regroup instead of letting it build. Kudos to you for being assertive with your landlord. Certainly, his actions were not acceptable! Keep at it! Danielle, Bilingual Health Educator
