Congrats Kristilu, But I thought that somewhere here on the board is a rule, that if you have a brownie or "chocolate" you must have enough for everyone. Good going! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/3/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 284 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,100 Amount Saved: $994.00 Life Gained: Days: 44 Hrs: 8 Mins: 16 Seconds: 20

I DID IT!!! :) :) I DID IT!!! I thought it thru, took deep breaths, carried an extra cup of cold water with me and made it to get the boys pretty easily. So, when I picked them up, they were not as argumentative with each other as they usually are and that helped too. But, they wanted to stop by the store and get a drink, which I did and with cigarettes staring me in the face, I tossed a bag of sunflower seeds up on the counter and got out of there!!! PATTING MYSELF ON THE BACK FOR A JOB WELL DONE!!! And I have to admit, this patch is making it a lot easier on me. I am going to do it this time!!!! Well, this is late, but i am hoping you made it home safe and sound! Seeing that you know the ride home is "your weakness" and a "bad time" for you. Why not turning it around to a positive experience. Instead of fearing it or dreading it, try to think - "I love driving home from work, nothing feels better than getting done work and getting the heck out of here and heading towards my home" or "My drive home is a time to relax, listen to music, see some sights and just unwind before i pick up the boys." Just a suggestion?! Hope you made it home okay. You know this is a trigger, what did you do to plan for it? You have to have a plan for this and other times when you know there will a strong urge to smoke. We can offer suggestions, but you have to take the actions. Just don't smoke. Kristilu, you are going to be fine. With each step that you take smokefree you are going to be stonger and more self confident than you have ever been. Gum for me was huge. And still is. Keeps my mouth busy and tasting great. You can do this girl! :) Faith My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/23/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 50 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,250 Amount Saved: $600.00 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 18 Mins: 16 Seconds: 59

Hi kristi Glad to see you continuing. I think I answered this when you first quit. I suggested a bunch of things - taking a new route home, playing a game with the kids in the car, stopping to do something fun, singing, bringing along some substitutions like hard candies, gum, a straw, carrot sticks, reciting all the reasons and benefits of smoking.
