It will get better but it does take time, one day you will look back and think WOW what a ride that was !! I remember being so hateful and mean its a wonder my hubby even speaks to me, i thought for awhile he was gonna have to perform a Exorcism on me LOL, but really just keep up the fight it is so worth the battle, Hang Tough fight the bad days and enjoy the good, one day at a time you will get through this, just never give in :) Tresa My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/8/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 2009 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 40,180 Amount Saved: $7,031.50 Life Gained: Days: 287 Hrs: 4 Mins: 34 Seconds: 2

Susie - I wish I could give you a promised date of when it will get easier for you. I remember that when I first quit I was desperate to know and kept asking - when will this get better? One thing I can tell you is that it won't get any worse - if you've made it through these past 4 days you can make it through today and so on. Merlin & Susie - Unfortunately, you're right on course with the sleep disturbance! Nicotine withdrawal can really mess with your sleep. Everyone is different, but for me it took several weeks before my sleep was back to normal. But again, it won't get any worse than you've experienced these past few days - so you know you can battle through it! Hang in there Susie..Bear know what he's talking about. Even though everyone's quit is unique, most of us have gone through the same, or similar obstacles. My wife and I quit together, and she has had a much harder time than I have, and I smoked twice as much. She's doing it, and I know you can too. Thank you bear! You've eased my mind. I think I can get through the next few weeks. My poor family. They have to put up with my strange emotions. I'll have to do something special for them after I get through the next few weeks. They deserve it! It would be nice if I could sleep but I suspect that will come in time. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/3/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 4 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 200 Amount Saved: $72.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 13 Mins: 24 Seconds: 26

Hi Susie Rule of thumb the first week is generaly the tough part we refer to it as hell week. The 2'nd week is heck week it's not so intense. You have to remember your body is adjusting to the lack of nicotine and sending messages to your brain looking for it's fix.Be kind to your self it will pass your doing fine. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/20/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 324 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,832 Amount Saved: $3,240.00 Life Gained: Days: 78 Hrs: 18 Mins: 45 Seconds: 41

I have a few days under my belt and I'm still determined not to smoke. I just hope that today will be just a little easier than yesterday which was pretty hard with the cravings. I know we all experience quitting differently but was wondering how long do these intense feelings last? I'm not complaining because I understand that to heal I must go through these stages, I'm just wondering when to expect these feelings to fade. I hope you all have a wonderful day!
