Hi Chantix gang -
I talked with my MD over the phone today and we discussed my concerns about Chantix. He admitted that there just wasn't enough research yet on Chantix. He also told me that some of his other patients had similar physical problems when stopping Chantix and it may have something to do with addtional medications that a patient may be on at the time...his advice was to taper. One per day for two weeks. Every other day...and so on. He had some patients that couldn't tolerate the drug at all.
I think it's also important to note that this thread was never intended to bash the very drug that finally helped me quit smoking, but to bring to everyone's attention that, weather we like it or not, we are Phizer's guinea pigs. I feel that it's our obligation to report any (or all) side effects to anyone who is considering this therapy.
