It is now day 8 of my quit which actually began on Jan 2, but was rudely interrupted when I caved to a crave at almost 3 weeks. Although I did restart my quit meter, I continued my daily deposit of the cost of a pack of cigs into a separate savings acount.
It's amazing just how fast that adds up! I thought that after 40 years of smoking and only one slip in a month I earned a reward, so I am now the proud owner of a new curio cabinet in which to display some of my travel treasures from the past.
My six month celebration will be a cruise to Alaska with friends, and we are already planning that!
Already I feel so much better for having quit that nasty habit, and am really not too toubled with withdrawl effects. Any strong urges are rapidly dealth with by a piece of Thrive gum, and some days even that is not needed.
Although I don't post often, I am on this site daily as a means of continuously reinforcing my quit, and I am amazed at all of the support which is so freely given. You are an awesome collection of people. :)
