Anxious1 Hi. I read the Allen Carr book about 5-6 weeks in to my quit. I had heard a lot here about it so I bought it. I think there is some good information in it and some of it I had a hard time with. The more knowledge we can absorb the better, I suppose. I know what you mean about something feeling a little off, yet. I find myself hesitating when i say to myself I don't smoke. I think it may be that deep down i am afraid I may slip at some point and I don't want to set myself up for a big guilt trip. That may not be a healthy attitude but it is one that is real for me. I am consciously aware of that and am working on that one. I too, just keep trusting that each day, week, will get better than the one before. Thanks for sharing the thoughts. anxious1 My experience tells me that feeling urges is pretty normal. After all smoking is a learned behaviour. We have been waltzing with the addiction for a long time, and it is no wonder that we get that three step back in our minds now and again. The good news is that it diminishes as we learn new behaviours that do not include smoking. You are doing fine. nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 406 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 12,180 Amount Saved: $4,263.00 Life Gained: Days: 75 Hrs: 18 Mins: 51 Seconds: 7

Susie, you will get to 60. I see you are an RN, I always thought that if I worked in the medical field I would quit smoking no problem, being surrounded by people who are dying from smoking related illness. But, that isn't true, you can always dissmiss it once your away from it, its how the mind works. I have my children as a huge crutch right now. I think about them, and it keeps me going. You think I could think of myself, but they are my life. Even though my daughter is 15 and tends to be a little nasty, she still is like a rock for me. I think we need that. The book is actually called "the little book of quitting", however, this is like a key points for the big book. I am trying to order it, there is also one just for women, I want that one too, I have heard numerous times that it tends to be more difficult for women...not slighting the battle for men at all, I think we just might be more emotionally attached. Hi Anxioux1 I'm so impressed by your 60 days! I hope to get there someday! Do you know the name of the little book? I would love to read it! Have a wonderful evening and don't work too hard. On second thought, keep working - good distraction! Hehehe My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/3/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 1 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 50 Amount Saved: $18.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 5 Mins: 20 Seconds: 28
