Welcome Susie, I agree completely with Mister Ed, participating here is such a boon to one's quit; you will do well here both for yourself and for others and that is a good thing. I must tell you that I love your quote:- "If you surround yourself with positive people, it is bound to rub off" Susie Just keep surrounding yourself and you will be a winner in no time. Best Wishes Penitent d1357 :)

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

16 years ago 0 2417 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Staying busy is the key! Also, replace smoking with a new habit. I choose to suck on mints, then I was addicted to them! Drink lots of ice water too!!! Stopping smoking is not the easiest thing I have ever done. As you can see by the stats of all the other people here, it CAN be done with lots of determination to quit! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/8/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 391 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,865 Amount Saved: $1,642.20 Life Gained: Days: 37 Hrs: 4 Mins: 11 Seconds: 17

Hi Anna, I'm new at this but I cope by staying busy. I don't know how long that will last but so far it's working! I think visiting this site will also serve me well! The people here are so encouraging! I'm expecting craves to come knocking on my mind's door but hopefully I'll be ready for them! :D My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/3/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 0 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 2 Mins: 11 Seconds: 26

I am glad that you have joined in Susie! You are going to be fine! What types of coping mechanisms have you got in place??? There is alot of good advice on here if you need it! (I just kind of jumped into not smoking feet first and figured it out as I went! But, that is my personality, I am not a planner, but hey, it works for me!) If you surround yourself with positive people, it's bound to rub off. There's something about this forum. I feel safe here and don't want to lose that feeling! Also - no cigarettes are allowed in here! Hehehe My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/3/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 0 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 2 Mins: 7 Seconds: 42

It hasn't gone unnoticed how SUSIE, who has joined only today, is taking a very active role here.. In my experience, people who have done this in the past have beaten this addiction You will do well here :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 720 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 21,600 Amount Saved: 5,400.00 Life Gained: Days: 117 Hrs: 9 Mins: 45 Seconds: 41
