Let's Talk Self-Talk

And I thought I was only one walking around the house having conversation with myself. I have 2 dogs and a cat so I talk to them and tell them how I am not going to smoke. I also think of my stats here and want to keep adding days to it. Hang in there and in about 2 weeks we can start a one month parade. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 13 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 265 Amount Saved: $84.5 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 20 Mins: 22 Seconds: 53

I always tell myself, "smoking won't solve anything, I'll only feel worse afterwards." And it works every time. OK, so I've been realizing these past few days, that the major cravings I have are during late afternoon, leading up to dinner time. And also realized that what stops them for me is self-talk. I say, "I'm wanting a cigarette, but I don't really WANT it, because I don't smoke. I'm a non-smoker." I was curious as to what others say, and sure enough, I ran into this one by Lady J
"Smoking is not an option".
Anybody else want to share their gems of self-talk? 'cause I'm getting bored talking to myself with the same old thing...lol My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 12 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 487 Amount Saved: $81.6 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 16 Mins: 15 Seconds: 37
