Nice to see you have the right attitude and honest and open way of talking about your new journey... Good luck to both of you on this first leg, and keep the iced water close by... hey Boots and Hubby, me and mine quit all of a sudden too, I think it is easier that way, we used chantix also, in fact if you search for chantix on the search bar you will see some threads. You can search for anything here. I spent alot of time reading here for weeks and weeks, still do actually, so stay close okay? holler if you need help. Congrats on a excellent choice you have made!! Hey Boots Yes you are right this will be one of your hardest journeys. I can say that because i have quit numerous addictions before and this one was the hardest for me. DON'T let that get you down thou. This is the only time i have quit smoking and this site worked for me. I used the milestones, got all the info i could from this site and the support i needed from the people here. I have not turned back (yet - God willing!). I wish you and your husband the best and hope you both come around lots and keep us up to date on your progress. Stay strong. I am still here, although after the way today is going I am not sure how...I get really frustrated with myself. I have days where its a breeze and then a day like today where there is this little nag at me..it makes me crazy sometimes, but I prefer not to smoke more than I want to smoke so I don't . I just hope it gets better everyday. These people are wonderful, and supportive. Whenever you need help, just ask, it makes you feel so much better to know everybody struggles in there own way, you don't feel alone. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 60 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,800 Amount Saved: $225.00 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 22 Mins: 15 Seconds: 31

Hey Boots and hubby, Well, you're doing it. Like you, I had tried all different methods unsuccessfully, but this time, with chantix and this site, I have finally found freedom from those nasty cigarettes. Make sure you eat with the chantix and drink lots of water. Plan a reward for yourselves tonight-rent a dvd, go to the movies, a nice dinner, a relaxing bath, whatever makes you feel good. Yee hah!!! New quitters!!!! Well it looks like hubby and I got our dates mixed up and he was certain it was today that we were quitting so after I came home from my walk I noticed all the ashtrays, cigarettes were gone, I'm not going to the store to get a pack of cigarettes just for today so it looks like our start date is today!! Nervous scared anxious about how the day will progress but I'm really determined to get rid of this filthy habit.. Thanks for the support everyone I'm just starting my journey! BTW Bear I don't mind blunt ..it keeps it real and I'm sure this is one of the hardest journeys I will make in my life! Hey, Judy and husband, welcome and don't be scared... look around the site and see hpow many stalwarts have been off smokes for years and who still come back to help and support new members like you and I. And, Bear thinks he's a "blunt" supporter, but, you know, we need more bluntness in here because it's a life or death issue!!!We can't afford to get too cozy and soft on ourselves when it comes to experience and advice learned the VERY hard way... Keep telling us how you two are doing - tomorrow!!
