How have I missed this thread????? Welcome aboard Terry! I love your sister Kelly!!! I think you should quit tomorrow. I think that putting off the quit date builds up a hype. You can always smoke, just choose not to! I believe the 2nd is a Saturday. Kelly I think I read one of those letters just last night and it was really good. I have every intention of talking to my boss when I go in and am not smoking. He's already aware of what I've been doing with it for over a month now, so he'll understand. And he is an ex smoker himself, so i've got support.

Hi Terry Just keep a positive attitude and I know you can do it! There is never going to be a good time to quit. I am at the stage of 20 hours smoke-free and still bargaining with myself for a "last" cigarette. You just need to be strong and know that anyone can do it! It is just a matter of not picking a cigarette up. It's not easy by any means; in fact, I find this quite unbearable at times but every hour that passes, I feel so proud of myself. Best wishes! Dee :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/25/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 1 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 10 Amount Saved: $2.50 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 2 Mins: 41 Seconds: 31

Great news, Terry... I think that, by your good attitude as posted here, you have done enough preparation work to make the Quit work on the 2nd Feb. Next Sunday gives you all day to deal with the withdrawal before work - why not give yourself two days and Quit on the Saturday?? OK, so I changed my quit date to Sat. 2nd. Feb. Today I am cutting down by half, so the 7 I've been smoking I'll turn into 3 or 4. Wheww here we go again. Terry

There is a letter to family and friends in a thread somewhere...actually there are two letters (I like the cake version :)) Anyway, I did a search and I can't find the thread but maybe someone here that is really good at bumping things ;) knows where it is. It might be a good one for you to give to your co-workers, Terry. Kelly, you can lecture me on THIS subject all you want.:) I agree with you about moving my quit date up. I may consider that. Hmmm let me think about that one until tomorrow. I have been in withdrawl for quite some time now and I am afraid of giving these things up even though I know I must. I am also afraid of making a quit date during the week because I may bite someones head off that could ensure that I no longer have a job, so it has to be a weekend. So that would make it next weekend! OMG. As far as the resentment thing goes, I've learned alot about that in the last 6 years if you get my drift. Coming from where I've come from resentments were what kept me there. So I do really need to get this over as soon as possible. OK, I'll move it up. Anxious 1 you are doing well and you will be a model for me to follow so keep up the good work. Thanks all that post on here. Terry
