having a bad day

16 years ago 0 591 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Bah on stupid boys! I had the morning thing as well... It helps to keep a nice cold bottle of water in the fridge to reach for first thing - chug it. Also - make a new morning routine. Wake up, chug water, start a load of laundry, eat breakfast.. You get the picture.. I don't know what you do in the mornings, but try shaking things up some. my night was better, i decided to get a hair cut and color to do something for me. it helped and i was pretty relaxed the rest if the night. he eased up and became more supportive, he is down to about two cigs a day, maybe that us part of it that i need to recognize. i work the stupid late night manager line again today, but that means kids and dinner are his resposibility tonight. i do have a question, my hardest time if the day us waking up and still being all anxious about the morning cigarrette, did any of you have difficulty with one particular time of day that didn't want to let you go? By the way, i am using my daughters lap top and the shift keys don't work very well, i just wanted you to know my grammar wasn't that bad. Thanks for all the great advise, i have been down this road with him once before, we seperated for about a month due to his jealousy and over bearing personality. we'll see what happens, but i now know i have a wonderful group of people to talk to right here, not only about smoking but stupid boys too!! talk to you later hopefully, you keep me going on.l :) anybody heard from moss? I agree - talk to him about it. My ex-husband is actually just like what you described your husband doing. He was also a smoker (and still is), and used to do the same crap to me. I remember one time I was just sitting on the couch working a crossword puzzle after quitting one time, and he just said out of the blue "Boy, you need to go back to smoking if you're going to be such a b***h". I was stunned. LOL! (I can laugh about it now - thankfully i'm not married to him anymore and he has a spot on his smoke filled lung... bummer.) He also used to blow smoke in my face, and offer me a cig every time things got stressful - he also used to create stressful situations for us to have to get through. I can give you a bit of advise that I wish i had been able to get through my head while I was married to him. Remember that your well being and emotions are your own and NOBODY can change them without your permission. You also can't change him. You can't make him feel guilty and you can't make him care about you and you can't make him be more supportive.. I don't care how many fry pans you have. You either love him for who he is - which is extremely insecure, or you go. Period. Also - his behavior doesn't reflect on you at all! Leave that where it belongs - with him. Don't think that i'm telling you that you have to be happy about everything he does! lol - feel free to come cry on our shoulders any time.. anxious1, First off, your quit has to be your first priority. Protect it at all costs. Lead by example. Second, talk to him. Try to find some middle ground together that will help both of you get through this difficult time. Many members have dealt with this issue and have gone on to have successful quits. Try your best to stay focused and keep reminding yourself of all the positive health benefits that you will experience being a non smoker. Sylvie, Bilingual Health Educator

You have 56 hard fought days, congrats. They are not easy to get, hold them close. As far as you husband goes, I no answers. I guess sometimes we just have accept the fact that is the way they are. If you can change him, do it, if not, let it go. You take care of yourself, the rest will fall into place. You have 56 days do you realize that? 56 days and if you don't smoke today, tomorrow you will have 57 days- WOW!!! Kids, what can I tell you? They will be the same whether you smoke of not. But gotta love them :p Get on that treadmill and walk away the stress. You can and are doing it!!! Anxioux1 - A brisk run on the treadmill sounds like a great idea --- such a good way to release stress & anger and it will help you sleep tonight as well! I disagree with one thing you said: "This is just a bad time of year for me". I believe what you meant was "This used to be a bad time of year for me". You're quitting smoking - what an amazing thing. From now on you will celebrate this time of year as the anniversary of your quit & start of living a healthy life. P.S. Aren't you glad you don't have to stand outside and/or drive with the windows down to smoke in the 20 below 0 weather! ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/24/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 341 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 11,935 Amount Saved: $2,216.50 Life Gained: Days: 29 Hrs: 1 Mins: 33 Seconds: 7

He actually bought me a tred mill to use when I started the quit, I might hop on there tonigh for a brisk run. Today it is 20 below 0, I am NOT going outside except to my car. So many of you have pictures by sunny beaches...I am so jealous. :p I am hoping that once our sun comes back...maybe by late June, I will start feeling a little better. This is just a bad time of year for me anyway..Lizzie, is that your dog? How beautiful!! I breed dogs, Daschunds and Golden Retrievers, love em, cause they ALWAYS love you.
