Congratulations Try Again on reaching 1 year smoke-free! No easy feat for you I know, but one you should be very, very proud of, even if it wasn't and isn't pretty and easy all the time. You've done it, and nicotine free now too. Amazing. Keep letting us know how you are, whining or not. We always listen. Tryagain, Congrats on your one year smoke free! You should be so proud of yourself for such a great accomplishment. When you are feeling down about the cravings, just remind yourself of all the healing your body has done and how much better you now feel. Try and stay focused on the positive and to reward yourself! Trying Again congrats on your one year. I know how much you have worked for this day and I certainly hope you have something wonderful planned for yourself. Your honesty is appreciated. I to think about it and some days are really hard, but I am not willing to throw in the towel yet. You let us know that for some of us it is not easy and that you can still make it. I too wish I could have been one that put them down, like my husband, and never think about them again. You are an awesome quitter and I hope you continue to travel this journey with us. Please pop in and let us know how you are doing, I care. Tryagain, you've accomplished a great deal in staying smoke-free for one year!! You're to be commended and congratulated, especially in light of the difficulty you've experienced, and continue to experience. Most of the time...not smoking is a relatively easy matter for me. I do still have something like cravings... just nothing like they used to be. I smoked a pack a day for 36 years, so I was/am definitely strongly addicted... but I knew that I was ready to go through whatever came (and for however long it took) to beat this addiction. I'm still going through it to some extent, but I prefer to enunciate (and live in) the progress I've made. I'm not as completely at home being a non-smoker as I was being a smoker, yet. However, I'm healthier... I breathe easier, I'm not enslaved to a drug that's killing me... and I'm the role-model for my kids that I wanted to be, in that regard. So, if I'm not as comfortable with this new identity, that's fine. I will be, and perhaps now... I'll get to live long enough to experience that. Again... congratulations! You've done a remarkable thing, and I hope it continues... and that your fulfillment as a non-smoker increases as time goes by.
