Wow! Thanks so much for the wonderful SSC welcome! I was checking out the amount of Smoke-Free Days accumulated by the people who have said hello and the numbers are AMAZING!!! My guess is that the benefits you all feel by that amount of time must be AMAZING too! The tightness in my lungs has started to let go a little. I still cough but I think its more of a cleansing thing. I rarely have to clear my throat anymore but I can honestly say I haven't had a good nights sleep since I quit! (I'm sure its related to the patch and a small price to pay as far as I'm concerned!) Thanks again. Hi Faith, Cute beagle! I'm glad your here. You have the best reasons in the world to quit. If you are smoking your thinking about quitting. If your quitting your thinking about smoking. But you don't keep thinking about it. You have some days behide you and your hubby with you so I say jump on in and help someone else see you are human and trying to break an addiction. Welcome. Hi! I guess its about time I said hello. I've been reading and reading for quite awhile now. My quit date is December 23/07 and I am using the patch. I'm still on Step One and plan on following the program laid out by the manufacturer. This has to be my 1000th quit! Or so it feels. I've been a smoker since I was a teenager and I am going to be the BIG 5-0 this year. The longest I've been quit was 21 months back in the early 90's. There are many reasons to quit but for me, the sense of shame around my smoking has become overwhelming. So far my health is good but I'm starting to feel like I'm really pushing my luck. And ... the amount of $$$ is just plain CRAZY! My husband also quit on the same day I did. We haven't killed each other yet so things are looking good! Also, another BIG motivator for us is that our daughter and son-in- law are pregnant with our first Grandbaby! Due in May! Sooo ... thats a bit of my story.
