Lainey, so sorry about your loss. But, I must say again what has been said below - you're a wonderful quitter to keep posting as often as you and others - long time quitters - do. It is so encouraging for all us newbies. So very sorry for your loss, but equally glad for the new beginning-to-be! You're optimism and kindness are never overlooked by me, nor my many others I'm sure. Stay strong and take this virtual hug as many times as it's needed! Lainey your post gave me goosebumps. I am so very sorry for your loss, but you are correct , celebrate his life and all that he lived. A four year old becoming a big brother is a great way to help everyone get thru this, especially the 4 year old. Do take care of yourself and your family, and prove to everyone that smoking doesn't help any situation -good or bad-. We will all be here for you, as you are for us! take care My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/7/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 13 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 234 Amount Saved: $88.92 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 5 Mins: 9 Seconds: 50

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

We lost my Father in Law this week, after a very long battle of three different kinds of cancer. He had been bedridden for eighteen months, but died at home with his family, as he wanted. So we are not sad, we are preparing to celebrate his life, and being Thankful that his pain has ended.(He smoked as long as he could, but none of his cancers were smoking related.) This all happening just as my four year old Grandson announce that he is "going to be a big brother", because my daughter is expecting. So the Circle of Life continues on. So for all you Newbies, I haven't even had a craving so far, and if I do, I know what to do, deep breaths, and gum or a straw will get me through it. One thing I have learned after quitting so many times is that smoking does not make any event feel better for any reason, not matter what!
