Good job KL! Okay, now do tomorrow what you did today. Just one day at a time. When someone whispers in your ear to smoke remind yourself that you don't smoke anymore. You can smoke if you want to though, just choose not to. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/8/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 378 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,670 Amount Saved: $1,587.60 Life Gained: Days: 35 Hrs: 23 Mins: 2 Seconds: 10

MistyMoonlight, I am doing okay. I bought lots of suckers and jolly ranchers last night at the grocery store and made it thru day 1! Thank you for checking on me! It was crazy at work today, so I didn't get to get online much. (((hugs))) to my quittin buddies! Off to day 2! kristilu, Just until the penny drops. And do you know who controls that penny? You do! There are lots and lots of words but there really isn't much of science to this. You just need a mindset that wants to be quit more than it wants to smoke. When you get that right, the penny will drop automatically. And if it helps you in the early days, I am nearly 4 years quit and I never crave a cigarette. You can be like me! :) Good Luck Penitent d1343 :)

kristilu ~ It's never easy, no matter if it's your first time trying to quit or your seventh..... Sometimes it's a matter of telling yourself 'NO' when you want to slip. After almost 6 years being smokefree I can still at times want to smoke, but you know what??? I know that I cannot smoke, no matter what. Not one! That's a part of the quit, knowing that you cannot give in, do not allow yourself to give in... after 5 minutes the crave is gone, so wait it out till the next one, and then each crave will become farther and farther apart! I spent a lot of my time in the bathtub the first couple of weeks (Nov. 2002 Hall of Fame), and boy did it help!!! My daughters will never forget the he11 I put them through when I quit smoking, but they'll also say that they are very happy and proud that I did! Do this for yourself first, then for your loved ones (because they WILL remember!) Kristilu, Kristilu, Kristilu - just don't light that next one up. Go to the store and buy the candy cigarettes. After the nicotine is out of your system in three days you are only fighting the habit part of the quit. You can do it, just let yourself do it!
