Pen, you are right. I am not putting that nasty thing to my mouth anymore. But the support I have received here has kept me going when I failed so many times. Until I quit for myself, the support here kept me trying. That's all I was trying to say. Each of you are part of this journey for me. Your posts have helped me and others a lot and I thank you. You wouldn't be where you are today without us? Maybe, - but I'll tell you what, Sparky; you definitely wouldn't be where you are today without YOU! Best Wishes! Penitent d1337 :)

Great post Sparky! That really helped me to read it. I know what lies ahead, the good and the bad. Eventually, I know the good will win out, and the craves will become a memory. I'm so proud of how well you've done. I hope to have those kind of stats before long. Very profound Sparky, and thankyou for posting your thoughts. I think it reminds us that none of us is in this alone, which can be very comforting. Perhaps another common denominator is that we all share the same goal. COMMON DENOMINATOR After reading many post and seeing all the newbies and returnees I asked myself what is our common denominator? Some of us are more mature (age wise) than some. We come from different parts of the globe. We are male or female. We all come together for on purpose, TO QUIT SMOKING. For some all it takes the desire to quit and they do. For some of us we come here with such desire to quit and we mess up and have to relearn and start again. We read in the post to get prepared. What is that some may ask? When I first started this journey I thought I was, but there is no way to get prepared for the awful crave that attacks out of nowhere. Yes, you read about it, but I had no clue what it really was like until I experienced it. I didnt know that craves would be part of the journey for so long. I thought after a few days you had it made. The craves stayed longer than I liked, but I had to learn to get though them. Also I learned that you have to go though firsts and that would take a year or so. So with craves come coping tools. I learned new behaviors, breathing, drinking water, exercise and of course SSC. Then there were the days like 10,11,12 or whatever day it may before you, that the boredom sets in. You know the stinking thinking. Oh one puff wont hurt, oh maybe one, of what the heck I will get a pack and start over. Had to learn how to get though the boredom. So what is our COMMON DENOMINATOR? I never mentioned the word addict. That was such a turn off for me in the beginning, but today I understand it. But for me our COMMON DENOMINATOR is each other. I would not be this far into my quit if it were not for the support I get here day after day after day. Yes, I have the desire, yes I have learned and still learning, yes I am an addict, but I also am grateful for each and every one of YOU!!!!!
