stickin You are right on the mark with this one...dwelling is like a deer staring into the headlights...it almost hypnotises the self into lighting up...You are right to let that siren song go and keep on about your business...stay busy stay strong and stay well... nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 62 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,499 Amount Saved: $434 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 14 Mins: 36 Seconds: 34

Dwelling makes it so much more Difficult When I craved, I would mentally apply pressure to the crave thought to try and push it out of my head usually by thinking this lightning up is not an option, if I give in this time I will need another in an hour and another in another hour, it makes no sense. I then added a teaspoon or tablespoon of distraction and went about my business. Try very hard not to let the crave thought gain a foothold in your mind. Squash it as quickly as possible and by doing so you will not dwell on the thought. Dwells are quit killers. Stickin to it, Thank you for sharing! Dwelling can make it more difficult; distractions are helpful and more fun! Danielle ________________________ The SSC Support Team

Sometimes I'd not only dwell on it, I'd sit and watch the clock ticking off non smoking minutes! You're right though. Thinking about it only makes it worse. Unless you're thinking about how bad it is. Sometimes I've gotten through a difficult crave by visualizing smoking and how bad it is, how I'd cough and be sick.
