Hi Kristilu - Congrats on your decision to quit! Goofy is right, follow the advice of some of our seasoned members and stick close and you will do well. Goofy, himself has become quite a good role model, too. Aloha's advice about working the program tools and workbook...yes, do that, definitely do that! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 131 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,930 Amount Saved: $766.35 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 21 Mins: 36 Seconds: 53

Hellloooo Kristilu, If you want, really want a successful quit, you stick with unhooked, Ginette, and aloha. Ginette, is just over 3 weeks into her quit, but man is she full of wisdom. Now unhooked on the other hand, has been around a while. She's also in our hall of fame, as well as aloha. She's another one who will see to your having a successful quit. Follow closely what you read by these terrific people, as well as the others and health pros here. The time will go so quickly. Before you grab a smoke, login, and post. Kristilu, Welcome to the SSC and congrats on setting a date! In preparation for your quit, we encourage you to work through the tools of the program and read through past/present discussions. We hope to hear from you again soon. Keep up the great attitude! Danielle, Bilingual Health Educator

Great resolve, Kristilu The quit tools here are very helpful in preparing - the glove box and the workbook. They'll help you get a handle on what your triggers are, and planning strategies to deal with them. Many people write out a list of reasons they are quitting and keep it by them. Read and post here as much as you want. It's a good substitute for smoking. Pamper yourself, give yourself rewards. Let us know how we can help. Way to go Kristilu for your resolution to quit. Remember to drink lots of cold water and take deep breaths and when you get a crave remember it passes after a few minutes. If you set your mind that you can do it, you can do it. Just be patient with yourself and be kind to yourself. Rest as much as you can...it helps. Again, congratulations for your decision to quit. Hang in there. I have set my quit date for 1/7 - but I am thinking I may bump it up and just go for it. I quit this time last year for 2 months. I regret not keeping the quit. But I am not a failure, I am a winner, and I will win this fight. Any advice is deeply appreciated!! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/7/2008 Smoke-Free Days: -3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: -90 Amount Saved: $-24.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: -16647
