Trailbum, do you know what you did in staying smoke-free for 14 months? You proved to yourself that you can have long-term recovery from this addiction. And no matter what, no one can take that away from you. When you're ready to get back on the wagon, you'll have that assurance in your tool-kit; you KNOW how to do this, you KNOW what's required, and you KNOW that you're capable of living your life without a cigarette. You know, because you've done it. If we accomplish a smoke-free life, great, but we all do this for one day... for one moment. This moment. I don't promise myself, "forever". I just promise myself, "now". And I know that if I string enough 'nows' together, that may end up being the rest of my life. But I can only have control over this moment. You didn't throw away 14 months. That's yours. Now, the choice is...what will you do with this moment? We're in your corner, Trailbum. We're rooting for you! Do not be discouraged Trailbum. I quit, started, quit, started... Your 14 months clean was a grand acheivement. It is also a stepping stone to your forever quit. Your lungs got a well deserved break to start cleaning themselves out and you learned what it is like to live as a non smoker. You will bring all that knowledge to your next quit. You can do this. Hang out and read; set your new quit date and let us know. new me My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 204 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,896 Amount Saved: $1,020.00 Life Gained: Days: 28 Hrs: 3 Mins: 25 Seconds: 0

Trailbum, I'm sorry to hear this, but think about sticking around here. You do have a place here as a member of the family...don't give up your quit and don't give up on us. Perhaps we can help you get back in the saddle again. Hey Trailbum, By the way, I love riding and you look very cool. I miss seeing your posta, and bye the way many of the oldies have disappeared. I do miss the trails as well. Keep the smoking dosage on the low, not three packs a-day, until you are ready to quit again. I'm just a tad younger than you, my aunt died from lung cancer at age 72, and she quit 5 years prior to that. Don't be long doll; waiting for trails!
