Since it's the beginning of another weekend, and the holiday season is officially among us, I thought I'd send out a quick post for us Octobreathers. How is everyone? Busy preparing for Christmas? Too busy to be tempted to smoke? Or have you started attending Christmas parties and get-togethers and overcome with temptation? I have to admit, weekends are still hard for me. Mostly, I blame my husband for continuing to smoke. Although, I should give him some credit. He never smokes in the house or around me. I am a little bummed about winter. I like to run and find that a great incentive to not smoke. Not only am I getting great exercise, which is a good thing because I do not want to gain weight. But, I love feeling my lung capacity improving. It is the main incentive that's kept me going so far. Now, as the Canadian winter has arrived, it's sooooo cold outside! I still run on the treadmill at the gym, which is good. But, I miss running outside. I miss summertime! Those of you in warmer climates (you know who I'm talking to! ;) ) are lucky that way. I definitely get the winter blues and I just hope I can make it through to spring without breaking down. As confident as I've been in my quit, I know I'm not in the clear yet. So, as another weekend approaches, I will have to be strong and remind myself of the many reasons I do not want to smoke. I may have to visit the gym a few times. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/29/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 39 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 468 Amount Saved: $159.12 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 3 Mins: 7 Seconds: 46
