I used this site a lot when I first quit smoking. It was what got me through the day. When I quit smoking I didn't want to gain a lot of weight so I decided to start running. When I first started I could only run 200 meters (1/2 way around a track). In the evening, after work, when I wanted to smoke, I would run. This became my new addiction. When I would run I wouldn't think about smoking and when I finished I was so tired that I didn't think about smoking. This was pretty much the only time I didn't think about it. I got better and better and the desire to smoke gradually faded away. This past Saturday I ran my first 1/2 marathon (13.2 miles). It was awesome. So, 2007 is the year I took my life back...200+ days of no smoking and 37 pounds lighter. The bottom line was I made the decision that I wasn't going to fall into the trap of quitting and gaining, I had options and I chose to win both fights. Keep up the journey....It is well worth it.
