Your story sounds a bit like mine! I too had quit, then looked towards the internet for support. Glad I found it - it is people like you who encouraged me to keep going when it seemed hard! Thanks! Cigarettes Not Smoked

1300 days ago I was in despair. I was smoking and I knew that I shouldn't be. I knew I had to quit smoking but I just did not know how to do it. I'd tried so many times before and failed dismally each time. I was convinced that I was a smoker until death and a sadly premature death too. What an idiot! It wasn't that I lacked the key to quitting; at that stage, I didn't even know that a key existed. I stumbled through the first three, ghastly quit days not knowing who I was, where I was or what I was doing. During that time I just had this vague notion in my head that I had to quit and stay quit, somehow, somehow! In miserable desperation and with a quit of just 72 hours which was barely lasting, I Googled "Stop Smoking" and within minutes a light was switched on. As I read and read, more and more fervently, the light got brighter and brighter. I'd found the key and slowly, the lock was turning. Today, that light is as bright as ever. And with that light comes a warmth and reassurance. A warmth and reassurance that tells Penitent that he has won and that it's okay to be smug - he earned it! Thanks Friends Penitent d1299 :)
