Mercy-- I have watched you over and over again be there for people in trouble. You always have exactly the right words to say....always. Sometimes the people who are most blessed with this gift forget to use it with themselves. Be kind to yourself. Everyone who has written is right. It may not be fair, and it may not be right, but it isn't your fault. We may never know why things happen the way they do....... maybe someday we will. For now, we just try to muddle through the best we can, and lean on each other when we need to. Thanks for leaning. And thanks for being there for everyone else. My thoughts are with you deb My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 28 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 672 Amount Saved: $196.56 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 17 Mins: 36 Seconds: 52

Mercy, Sorry to hear about your cousin. It has nothing to do what you did or didnt do. Just be your normal loving self..that is what she needs. Oh, mercy, I'm so sorry this is happening to your cousin, and as much as I understand how you feel, I have to say it is in no way anything you should feel guilty about. Nobody deserves to get lung cancer, smoker or not, and smoking isn't the only cause of it. It's very likely that no one will ever know why your cousin got it. The important thing is that you are there for your cousin and the rest of your family, all the way there. Please try to let go of the guilt and the bad feeling, it won't do anyone any good, least of all your cousin. Your family is in my thoughts and my heart, mercy & I'm sending you all positive, healthy vibes and a big hug. (((((mercy's whole family)))))) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/13/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 204 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,080 Amount Saved: $2,244.00 Life Gained: Days: 20 Hrs: 11 Mins: 53 Seconds: 18

I too, pray that I quit soon enough... I quit coz I could not breathe well.. my breathing is a little better... thinking & praying for you & your family, My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 100 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,000 Amount Saved: $300.00 Life Gained: Days: 10 Hrs: 16 Mins: 31 Seconds: 14

Hi, I just wanted to vent a little bit. I found out a few days ago my cousin who is in later 50's has lung cancer. What's worse....she NEVER smoked. I don't know where this quilt is coming from....but I feel like yelling..."it should be me"...not her. I feel so bad. The thought of lung cancer scares me and I'm so glad that I quit. I worry all the time I didn't quit soon enough. But....I can't shake the funny feeling inside over the irony of the situation. My own cousin got what I deserved. I know there isn't an answer...and I feel so very bad for her...I just felt I had to vent. love to all, Mercy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 316 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,320 Amount Saved: $1,412.52 Life Gained: Days: 41 Hrs: 13 Mins: 30 Seconds: 44
