Terri, PROTECT your quit!! Get rid of the stash. Buy some smelly good candles, think of your first reward, and next time post HELP and wait for replies okay? Good for you for starting over. :) Smoking didn't help right? Did it change anything? Remember that too next time. Tell that junkie to get lost, don't believe the lies. The craves will stop as long as you keep quitting. -hugs Sue off to Fred's wake now. Yes, Lainey you ARE right. Thanks for the encouragement guys. I've re-set the meter and I'm ready to get back on the horse. I guess part of the problem was that I didn't clean out all my secret stashes (I have been a closet smoker) and I happened to run across one I had forgotten about. If it is there, I'm probably gonna smoke it, so THIS time - out it goes! Terri, You slipped. It happens. Time to learn from it, pick yourself up and keep going! What could you do differently in the future? Danielle, Bilingual Health Educator

Terri, you're very early in the quit, give your self a break! Plan ahead and get some strategies in place to help you through. Self talk, water, straws, candy, gum, print some posts to help you...etc. Get the tools in place and it will help you get to where you want to go. Don't worry about the meter, losing two days is better than losing 200, am I right? :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 267 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,675 Amount Saved: $2,816.85 Life Gained: Days: 32 Hrs: 15 Mins: 35 Seconds: 32

Terri, What they said....the biggest thing right now, is to calmly regroup. I've only be smoke free for a month, and feel like I could cave in as well. The thing is....we're a lot bigger than those little sticks that had control of our lives for so long. Take some deep breaths, and continue. Oh, Terri do not be so hard on yourself. I hope you have learned a little something about how easy it is to give in. Be sure you read and work the tools on the left. You are learning to quit just like you learned to smoke. If you really want to stop you have to be committed. Stop smoking will be one your biggest thing you will ever do. Ask yourself "do I really want to quit?" What am I willing to do to stay stopped?" Addiction is a tricky monster and can get into your mind and play games with you, be prepared. Welcome back. I caved! I can't believe I went through the worst two days of my life (ok, maybe I'm being a little melodramatic there) just to cave in to what was a relatively mild craving! I feel like such an idiot!! It was so cool to see that I had stats, and now I have to turn the meter back to zero! But I still want to quit, and I'm going to give it another try. I'm honestly afraid that I can't do it, that somehow you guys are all different, stronger than I am and I'm doomed to smoke for the rest of my (probably short) life. I've read so many posts that have touched and inspired me, and yet I still gave in and smoked. I was almost afraid to post this and thought about just not coming back, but I really do want and need to quit, so I figured I had a better chance if I just confessed and moved on. So, there you have it - guess I'll go move that meter back to zip again ....
