Way to go Moss for making up your mind to do it. The first 3 days have always been the hardest for me, but for some reason it's easier this time. It's a struggle but it's well worth it and for me I'll be happy after I passed the 3rd day. I won't take one cigarette from anybody. That's what happened to me in the past. No more. I'll just tell the person that I quit and that's all there is to it. Hang in there. Thanks for posting, all of you. I'm into day 3 and haven't smoked. The straw has been helping. I thought it would just be a hand - mouth thing but it forces you to breathe deep. That has been a big hurdle in past quit attempts. Queen39 - Hang in there - Yesterday (Day 2)was hard but it felt ssoooooo good to go to bed not smelling like a cig. And this morning I feel the best yet. What a wonderful bunch you all are. I am on Day 10 and it does get easier! Just stick in there and do whatever you need to to not smoke. Try to think positve and it will be easier on you. Make sure you have a little stash of candies, gum, carrot sticks, books, music, etc. You'll do great and congrats on your progress so far! moss Welcome, and good on you for making this choice. We are all in the same boat, feel free to rant rave or what ever moves you. I have found that writing has helped me a great deal. It is a wonderful distraction, but also forms a history to which you may refer down the road. It will give you perspective and that is what a lot of this has been about for me anyway... Stay well and quit nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 330 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,900 Amount Saved: $3,465.00 Life Gained: Days: 60 Hrs: 7 Mins: 55 Seconds: 17
