Sue, I'm glad that you found the book, When you read futher into the book she will also explain about not getting discourage about set backs. I to know what you mean about it being tiring having it as a constant background in your mind. This might seem a little extreme but I keep a copy in my purse, office and next to my bed. So when the symptoms pop their little ugly head up its nice to be able to reconfirm what it is and bring some relief instead of stewing over the feelings. The book is one that you can read over and over, because when we are stressed out it is hard to focus on what were doing and reading. Keep posting what you learn from the book and other information, because it really helps to hear the things that work for them. I just learned about MVP from this site and it relates a lot to my symptons and runs in my family. Would not know anything about it tell now. sorry I keep going on to much. I Just have a lot of heart felt for people going threw this.

Thanks for that. Its weird but I went to a book store today and bought the book you recommended before I even read your reply ! I know its just adrenalin really. I read the first couple of chapters and thought she'd just written it for me ! I know I have to learn not to be frightened by it, if it were an ache anywhere else I would just think that its a nuisance and not worry. Its difficult tho' to think positively about this when its almost always constntly ther to some degree. It does go when I'm engrossed in something else, but it gets a bit tiring having to keep busy all the time. I guess I have to read the book properly now, and try to accept it for what it is, and no more that that. It doesn't mean that I'm going to be ill again, deep down I know that, but its hard to think like that always. Thanks for your response, it's helped to know that I'm not the only one.

Sue, I also have a stomach that reacts to my anxiety seems to be the weakest link. I also get heartburn and lose bowels and these feelings can scare me into a panick attack. If try not to over react to the symptom of anxiety I can lessen my attacks and sometimes not come at all, but that was after a lot of practic. I have had all the test that could be done on my stomach and bowels and found nothing wrong. It helped to know that it was just irritable bowel. Some times I get a little nervey when it goes away for awhile, then it returns. I found that pepcid works for me, probably because I get acid indgestion. It may not bring relief to everyone. There are other brands out there that are over the counter, you can also ask the pharmcy. Also when we have panick attacks we have adrenline running threw are body and it well effect our bowels try reading Dr. Clarie Weeks book, called hope and help for your nerves. She explains why we get all the weird symtoms and that they won't hurt you. She also suggest that you get a Phyiscal to help relieve your anxiety. I think I know how the thought goes. You think oh no! here it is again and how am I going to get threw this and will I be able to handle this time threw. That thougth right there will get the adreline going again in our body, because we just scared ourself with that thought and that in it self will start the panick cycle. That is why that this support group is so great, because when we read that this can be a sypmtom of anxiety it will calm us down, and lessen the sypmtom. sorry for going on for so long, I have had this disorder for 25 years and the key for me was learning how to be my safe person and to learn how to calm myself down when the symptoms come. Because when I try anything new or make a change and even get sick the sypmtoms will return. I went to therapy, read tons of books and listen to tapes to educate myself on how to deal with this disorder. I will return to them to reconfirm myself, at times that can be on a daily basis. I hope was able to comfort, not give you more anxiety.

I know this symtom is a sign of stress, but does anybody else get this for seemingly no reason, and how do you cope with it. I know in my case the underlying reason is because I don't want to be ill again ( I haven't had a panic attack for a year now ), but I was so ill for some time that it terrifies me to think I might ever have to grow through it again. But its a vicious circke isn't it ? If I worry about the knot in my stomach, it'll make me anxious so increasing the likelyhood. Like a self fulfilling prosphecy. Do any of you out there feel the same, and how do you cope ?
