Just set my quit date

Hey Mossman, congrats on your excellent choice :D I quit with my husband, and we both had a few out of body experiences during the first two weeks. I didn't kill him so that worked out well. :D Arm your self well, you will need new coping skills, I do exercise and it helps me. Water is another biggie, mints, stuff like that. Stay close and if you get in trouble post and wait - for replies - before you act. We will help you through it. Moss I'm only at the beginning of my 2nd week now and I already feel a lot better about the cravings. They are still there and sometimes it feels like they last for a big while but the truth is the worst has passed. I felt worse when I was feeling the cravings and was also feeling down and confused from my withdrawal (this was during my first 3-4 days). I think for me the trick has been to try to focus on the positives and keep on smiling. Keep on thinking tomorrow will be an even better day :). It also really helped to feel like your body is healing as you're going through the rough times, it keeps you hopeful that it will pass. Welcome Moss and the best of luck! And when you think you can't bare it just come here and post... someone is always around to help you through it. On another note... Stan!!! Congrats on your first 6 days! You're almost done with hell week!!!! Moss - I was out of my mind, standing on the edge of the abyss, for probably 2 weeks. Today, I no longer feel as if I'm cracking up. Now, it's trying to learn how to live life this new way - dealing with everything without my old "crutch". Everybody goes through those tough days at first. It's just a matter of hanging on and getting through them. If you decide you're ready to be done - you can do it. Mossman, Welcome to the SSC! With regards to your questions, it really varies person to person. I can assure you it will ease with time, just keep putting more distance between you and that last cigarette. We strongly encourage you to begin working through the tools of the online quit program. It's a great ressource for tips & tricks on quitting. We hope to hear from you again soon. Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist
