Gin -- You are not hopeless. You are not a worse addict that anyone else here. Quitting sucks - but you can do it if you choose to. One of the ways I knew that my quit this time was different was that I really changed my thinking. When you say "I can't seem to quit" or "I'm trying" or "I hope", you're already giving yourself an out to smoke. The bad news is -- no one can do this for you. The good news is -- no one and nothing can keep you from being successful - you have all the power here. Make a decision that you're not going to smoke, no matter what. Supportive friends and a place like this help, but in the end - it's up to you. I think I'm hopeless. I went back smoking again and can't seem to quit. I'm trying again...this is Day One for me. I hope this time I'll pass 3 days without lighting up. The third day is the hardest for me. I haven't smoked very much...3 a day, but still it's more than zero. I'm reaching out this time with a friend who used to smoke 3 packs a day and quit for 10 years. I hope she can help.
