Hey Kaiti, for the sake of some balance here, please know that it is perfectly possible to quit smoking quite comfortably whilst continuing to enjoy the far-reaching benefits of alcohol consumption!
Hell, one of my biggest rewards (promoted by so many here as a must when quiiting) was a bottle of fine red wine or a wonderful single malt. What better way to celebrate another week without cigarettes?!! And hey, I've had plenty of weeks now, 182 to be precise!
Do as you think best for your quit, ALWAYS, but be aware that the same triggers and cravings will surface if ever you think of returning to alcohol. That's why I always recommend that new quitters take alcohol head on early and beat it, just like they do all other aspects of day-to-day life.
It can be done and comfortably so, but it is your choice and I know that you will choose what is best for you.
Good Luck!
Hic! :)
