Hey Jacqui - good to see you got through the party. I think I might have been the person who directed you to this site through TradeMe. If so, it's good to see you're still going strong. As you can see, so am I! 50 days tomorrow ... woohoo. I am doing the robot dance in my head - in actuality I can't really dance very well at all. I was watching some Flight of the Conchords stuff on YouTube - Brett does an "Angry Dance" - I might try that some time. So funny (and they're Kiwis!)
Anyhow, I was reading your post and you said you got pissed. Since this is a predominantly American site, I was thinking most posters here probably think you got angry. Down Under, getting pissed means getting totally drunk, not angry - although sometimes I guess the two go together ... lol.
Hope you are enjoying not smoking Jacqui. I certainly am! Tomorrow I have not smoked over 1,200 cigarettes and will have saved $600. That's a big Christmas bonus!

Way to go jacqui. It's actually kind of fun to see how everyone is doing with their quit. Grandma 100 days. I'm looking forward to saying the same thing along with my fellow quitters of one more try, and sprquits.
They get the credit for my quit.

Good going, Jacqui, you made it through a tough trigger. Glad you had a fun time at the party.
I have to ask, though, if you had found someone with your brand, would you have????

Hey Big Sister Jaqui!
Congrats on day 7! I was excited to see you get there, and really am hoping everything went okay at the party. I was a little worried for you. I know I can't handle stuff like that yet. But I am STRONGLY rooting for you! Rah Rah Rah (with pom pom's and everything). If this helps, I've kind of resigned myself to the fact that I'm going to feel crappy for awhile. It seems to work better than fighting with it. Then, during those times I actually feel okay, it's a nice surprise. :)

Jacqui
Great to have you with us...Nice going on the 7 days, I wager it may seem like 7 years to you, but the important thing is that you are still standing and the cigarettes ain't...Part of the trap of this addiction is the emotional wringer we get go through when our body realizes that we are not going to poison it any longer...It has become so used to scheduled hits of nicotine and other stuff in the cigarette, that quitting feels unnatural and it wants to return to familiar ground...I think that is the nature of change...But change is actually a good thing in this case, and as you no doubt already know anything in this life worth having takes a whole lot of doing...The good news is that you have a universe of people here who understand the difficulty and to one way or another have faced the demon down...Now you will do it too and in the end be so much better for the doing...Stay close to the site, you will find that poating is a very useful distraction in its own right....
