I'M GOING CRAZY!!!

Hi ldyexec. You and I have the same quit date. I still have major cravings throught the day, but I have not smoke. I also thought that by this time, it will be a bit easier, but it has not been for me either. Just keep reminding yourself why you wanted to quit in the first place. This is what has kept me smoke-free. Be strong!!!! 1939Bear... I appreciate your input; however, I don't understand why you are using an abrupt tone. I'm am just looking for advise. I know that I just need to get on with the quitting process which is what I'm doing, but the severe withdraw symptoms I have (severe headaches) have not subsided and I was told that I am getting too much nicotine and its from the patch, that is why I was questioning it. I wasn't in this conversation to come across like I was whining. I'm just looking to advise. ldyexec, it isn't just saying be positive & have a good attitude. It's about actually SEEING every part of the quit as a positive thing. Every craving is an opportunity to devleop a new way to cope with life's curve balls. Withdrawal is your body healing from being poisoned for all those years. Quitting isn't only not smoking, it's learning to live without the crutch of addiction, it's doing yourself & your loved ones the favour of living as you were meant to. It's a journey to the person you were meant to be & it's hard, it's uncomfortable & frustrating. It's also wonderful, enlightening, liberating & SO worth it. You've got through 10 days, get a reward for yourself & start to celebrate every little victory every day. Bottom Line ldyexec It's a pain in the a-- to quit smoking might as well get that straight right now.How do you want to do it cold turkey,NRT, do'snt really matter.Just put your head down and cut the bull and get on with it. ;p My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/20/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 226 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,068 Amount Saved: $2,260.00 Life Gained: Days: 51 Hrs: 15 Mins: 58 Seconds: 34

ladyexec, If you are using the patch the nicotine is not out of your system. If you choose to use it, I believe you should use it as directed. If you choose not to use it, the nicotine will be out of your system in about three days. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 68 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,040 Amount Saved: $397.80 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 2 Mins: 41 Seconds: 51

Idyexec, It is a good idea to use any NRT as directed. The patch provides your body with a specific amount of nicotine that is controlled depending on the stage you are using. As you work from stage 1 to 3 you are slowing reducing the amount of nicotine. When you have completed the full course of treatment or you feel you are ready to live without the patch then you should stop using it.

I have actually started with the patch and have continued to use it. You are actually the 2nd person that has mentioned potentially not needing the patch anymore and I'm starting to wonder if that is true. It has been 10 days, I know the nicotine is out of my body, so why would I need this? The directions say a total of 8 weeks. What should I do? :confuse: My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 10 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 120 Amount Saved: $22.80 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 21 Mins: 59 Seconds: 1

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

Idyexec! You have to remember it is temporary! The withdrawals will get better and disappear! Have patience! You can do this! I know, its easy for me to say it, but we have all done it so it is doable! Be tough! Fight hard! Say you will and you will! Tell yourself smoking is NOT an option, you will have to do something else. Do you really want to go back to the coughing and the headaches and the awful cost? My guess is NO! Fight for yourself! You deserve to be free of this addiction, but only you can do it for yourself! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 241 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,025 Amount Saved: $2,542.55 Life Gained: Days: 29 Hrs: 11 Mins: 7 Seconds: 17
