Welcome Cat! I think most of us smoked for one reason or another and yours is just another one of those reasons. The good think is that we have learned how to live life without smoking, by using distractions to take our minds away from the smoking thoughts. We do cherish the life, the freedom from smoking that we have acquired. Hang with us and be strong for you and the rest of us and help others along with their journey. Have a positive "I can do attitude". If you haven't please take a look at the Quit Program Workbook on this site. Cat, You are doing great! You can still be the 'bad girl' without smoking, just be your sexy self! Good or bad smelling like an ashtray sucks! And by the way, the chocolates are a great idea! LOL! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 242 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,050 Amount Saved: $2,553.10 Life Gained: Days: 29 Hrs: 14 Mins: 37 Seconds: 57

Cat, I'm not shy about making the rewards about me...candles, body scrubs, lotions, etc.....it has to be something that lifts my mood and makes me forget the crave. One day at a time is all we need. Stay strong!! Thank you so much, Kaiti and Lady and Freebird and everybody!!! I was glad to hear, Lady, that things can still be really difficult after 2 weeks. I always thought that hell week and heck week were supposed to be the worst. They were difficult, but ok because I could kid myself into thinking of it as a "temporary game". Now I realize that it's serious, and that i will never be able to smoke again... I'll make it! And thank you again so much! (P.S. Yes, Kaiti, my rewards are very much along the line of clothes, hairdressers, manicure etc. Riduculous vanity. Oh well...) I know where your coming from in regards to the image and feeling sexy as a smoker. We have to think of other ways of doing things as a non-smoker. Reward yourself with some new lipstick, new perfume or a new blouse to make yourself feel better anf feel sexy. Remember, truely sexy people don't smell of cigs! Day 14 of my quit, I truly thought I was going insane. Look at my meter. I still remember this day. Does that tell you how bad it was? It does pass. Remember, we smoked for many years and that took its toll on our bodies and minds. I know at this point 15 days seems like forever but in comparison to how many years you smoked, is it really that long? Give yourself a chance. Stuff your face with whatever keeps you from smoking. You can lose the weight later. The only thing that matters at this point is that you don't smoke, one day at a time. Keep marching forward. You are succeeding!
