Yes, it does go away and it will dwindle. Try not to focus on it and use your activities to keep you busy. It has been such a big part of your life, that it will take time to go away and be forgotten.

While I was out of town and when I had time to think, I was wondering when do you stop thinking about smoking? I would lay in bed and the thoughts oh the thoughts. Then I would remind myself that I am a non-smoker and non-smokers don't think of smoking. So if they don't think of smoking what do they think about?
So this is what I would do. I would think of something pleasant or a place that would be nice to be at. I would think about lots of things and when the smoking thoughts come I tell myself I am a non-smoker and try really hard to change the thoughts.
But the thoughts are there and they are so annoying. This is the part of the quit I hate so much. It is like a big chain and ball that just won't go away.
Just wanted to put my thoughts out there. How do you wonderful quitters handle the thoughts????? I know they are thoughts and not actions, but they are driving me nuts.
