Hang in there. One thing I would do to help me through those very hard first days is just tell myself that I wanted to just make it through today. Don't think about tomorrow or never having another cig, just think about getting through today or even just getting through the next hour or two. Whatever it takes to beat the voices in your head trying to talk you into that cig. Just hang tough guys. Quitting isn't something you do in a day, or a week, those closest to you should be pampering you, rewarding you, supporting you and staying out of your way when you throw stuff. Remember, YOU ARE A DRUG ADDICT trying to get clean. Be nice to yourself and give yourself everything you want and can afford, everything but that drug that's driving you crazy right now. It's true, I'd rather not smoke and have bad and good days. The problem, is that while trying to quit, they all seem like bad days. The light at the end of the tunnel, is all the help from all of you. I'm told that the first 3 days are the worst. Tonight is 3 days. I hope you guys are right. Jayden, You are at the right place.. I too, have quit 3 times this year... This is my last quit!!! I do not have the energy to go through week one again... This site helps me to stay focused... It is simple, I want to quit smoking more that I want to smoke.. Bottom line!! Will we all have really good & bad days? Yes If you chose to smoke, then you you will be a smoker having good & bad days.. I have to agree with what Tresa said it does get better, I had a 9 month quit when I slipped, I guess I just was not as ready to quit as I thought. This time I know what is a head and it really does get a little easier each day.
