I agree, Martha! These are winning folks. Nice they have each other to lean on. I am rooting for each of you every day. OMT, I'll be tracking Noel, wishing the best for you folks. I'm waiting on a storm here, too, but no big winds, just lots of rain. Kind of fun to cosy up in these storms tho ;) Ok, tomorrow and the next day = One week quit by these three awesome quitters My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 226 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,040 Amount Saved: $1,536.80 Life Gained: Days: 31 Hrs: 14 Mins: 48 Seconds: 43

Wow! You guys are so inspiring! It is awesome just to watch you all go through this together, to help eachother along and I'm excited that I'll get to see you all celebrating your 6 Month anniversaries together. Honestly, it has been so long since I've felt what you are going through that it can be hard for me to relate sometimes. I remember it but I don't remeber all of it. So I can tell you it gets better and that this phase or that will pass but it's not the same as going through it with someone who is right there with you. Anyway. Rewards are hugely important. Even if it is renting a movie, eating an ice cream cone, not washing the dishes - ONE WEEK is a HUGE deal! You've GOT to celebrate that. Great job guys! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/5/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 1185 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 23,700 Amount Saved: $5,332.50 Life Gained: Days: 90 Hrs: 11 Mins: 52 Seconds: 22

You're having beers Goofy! :gasp: I thought you couldn't handle the trigger? Well, I hope you're enjoying those beers and realize as I did that we can enjoy a drink without the smoke. Good for you and your wife! I too am enjoying a beer today. Well, I had one beer and I am thinking of a glass of wine for later tonight. My husband and I have been preparing for hurricane Noel. We live in Nova Scotia and the last I heard we are going to get hit pretty hard. I may be offline if the power goes out. Hopefully it won't. I too am feeling very grateful for the tremendous support from everyone here. Thanks. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/29/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 5 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 60 Amount Saved: $20.40 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 10 Mins: 59 Seconds: 20

Can you believe? 1 week tomorrow. Today has been excruciating. I almost broke down and bought a pack. Thank god for my wife. She quit on Monday, and after we did so much work on the garage, she suggested I go get some beer. This I did. No smokes for either of us though. I know how much she likes different treats, so I got some of her favorites as well. We may end up gaining a few pounds, but we'll be at the gym again tomorrow. Thanks again for the support of this incredible team. I feel very close to people I've never met, and have only associated with for...1 week in 26 hours. Goofy, you're doing great. Just keep thinking about the positive things you have accomplished in almost one week! If you look at your mileage you'll see how impressed you should be with yourself! You have not smoked 240 cigs in 6 days!! Imagine how much better your lungs are feeling now :) I didn't even realize I would have had 99 fags in 6 days and half! Crazy! I'm feeling a lot better... I can see I'm slowly feeling less anxious. The desire is still there but it is a lot easier to control. When I left the house this morning I passed by the depaneur at the bottom of the building and managed to not even think twice about not buying a pack. This used to be pretty hard a week ago :). We'll make it, don't give up! We'll celebrate tomorrow our 1st week!!! yay! Goofy you are not losing it. If you were losing it, you would be beating up women half your age in the laundrymat! Or maybe it would be guys. I guess I identify with your wife because I too run around screaming "I want a smoke". I don't mean that, what I mean is "I don't want to want a smoke but as long as I think about not wanting a smoke, I want a smoke" It's the smokers version of not thinking about pink elephants. The more we not think of pink elephants, the more pink elephants are on the brain. I wish I had an answer, now all I have is a little sympathy. Thanks guys, I guess the garlic in your space could set you off, that makes my dilemma seem like nothing. My wife is cleaning the garage, while I'm trying to get some other things done today. Every time I get near her she's yelling at me that she wants a smoke. I do to, but I know in my heart it's not what I really want. Man, this is tougher now than it was on Monday. OMT, and sprquits, I believe that you're my strength at this point. I will not give in, and hopefully my wife will stop yelling, and give me a chance to yell. Let me know how it's going with you guys. Remember.... Failure is not an Option. hehe that is actually a pretty funny story One more try. Well, probably not funny at the time... Goofy you're doing great! Feeling overwhelemd with work is probably not helping but remember that having a fag is not going to make the workload get any better. Reward yourself today, take even 30 minutes just to do something fun that will make you forget all about work and cigs. I've been doing alright. I was in a nasty mood yesterday with no patience whatsoever for annoying colleagues but other than that I think the cravings are getting better. I mean I still think about it all the time but I keep telling myself smoking is not an option and I will not give in and that in a few days I will be feeling better :) Stay strong guys! If you feel a craving just keep post-poning it and the worst part will go away. Start doing something different or just breath deeply in and out... it's been helping me :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 6 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 90 Amount Saved: $29.25 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 10 Mins: 50 Seconds: 7

Goofy, do not give in! You made it through last night, right? And your wife too? Just think of how much an accomplishment that is! That is awesome and also a little bit of a milestone right there. Today you should celebrate. I know you are saving your money for your vacation. Maybe pull out some pictures and look at them with your wife. Think about that place and how great you will feel when you get there. I am so happy that you and your wife made it through the night without smoking. I think maybe quitting together may be more difficult because it's double the torture and double the crankiness. I don't know....but if you can both do it, just think how amazing that would be. As for me, I am still hanging in there. I am not very happy with my husband for no good reason. He is still smoking, and I am feeling resentful towards him and he irritates me all the time. I know this is not a great thing for our marriage, but I have to tell myself this is temporary. I hope I start feeling happier soon. Someone on this site (I don't remember who?) said the anger should pass after the first month. If that's true, we've only got three weeks to go. A long time, maybe, but it will come to an end. Oh, and do you want to hear about something that happened to me yesterday? I was so looking forward to yoga class and I went. Well, the class is sometimes very crowded and yesterday was one of those days. So, this guy came in at the last minute and set up right beside me, in my yoga space! I was not happy about that. I absolutely hate doing yoga too close to other people. So, that made me angry. And just to make matters worst, he had garlic breath! I mean, really bad garlic breath! And if you know anything about yoga, you know that you breath in through your nose and out through your mouth! Ok, this may seem a little funny now, but yesterday it completely ruined my yoga class and I was very angry. Then I came home and complained to my husband. Poor guy.
