WTG one more try. Nice to hear from you. Sorry that you're cold. I spent 7 years in Syracuse. Too Frigid!! Now I'm in Florida, and this morning was 54 deg. I think I'm going to move farther south. Still not smoking. My wife isn't either, and we haven't killed each other. Good luck on week 2. Hi guys, I'm still here. Still smoke-free! My weekend was good, but I did have a few moments of temptation. Mainly when my husband lit up. We did some shopping and I had to wait for him in the parking lot while he smoked a cigarette. At least I was warm in the truck, while he was out in the wind. ;) Yes, it is starting to get cold up here in Canada! Besides that I wasn't too tempted. Other than shopping (which is a great way to forget about smokes and a good reward) I watched a few movies. I also went to the gym and took my dog for a walk. I guess those are my hobbies...shopping, walking my dog, going to the gym, and watching movies. I am a bit of a movie junkie. I could watch movies every day. Good job on our first week everyone. Goofy, you keep picking those cords. What kind of music do you play? I absolutely love music too, however, I have not been blessed with a musical talent. I can't even sing karaoke. LOL! Ditto what sprquits said. Hell week, bring it on! Hey Goofy, as a follow guitar player let me say it works to play more. Little different without the butt hangin off the the E string but playing keeps your fingers busy. I playes alot more today than normal and my fingers hurt more. Keep up the good quit. Keeping a extra pick in my mouth helps me. P.S. forgot to mention... here's another positive thing about your quit... your guitar playing skills will get better and better :) Soon you'll be playing solo gigs and who knows maybe even getting a record deal :P Seriously though, it's nice to have a healthy hobbie ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 7 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 105 Amount Saved: $34.13 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 13 Mins: 19 Seconds: 5

Hey Goofy, I've had a pretty good weekend overall. Yesterday was a bit better to deal with than today. Mostly because I was busy with work and had to walk to another institute so the fresh air helped me through it. Today I spent the whole day at home which made it a little harder to deal with. On top of that it was mostly spent working on figures for my talk next friday on the computer so it made it quite challenging. But what got me through it was my sweet, sweet bf. We chatted all day... well we were both online webcaming but working at the same time. It is nice to be able to at least get a few little breaks and talk. He's also quitting... today was his 3rd smoke-free day :) I'm extremely proud of him since he has been smoking for a few years (I believe around 17). Together I think we motivate each other and keep each other from slipping. We'll make it Goofy! You'll see :). Here comes Heck week! Bring it on :P My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 7 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 105 Amount Saved: $34.13 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 13 Mins: 18 Seconds: 34

Thanks again all for the 1st week help. I feel very fortunate to have found you guys. I really want to know how one more try and sprquits made out this weekend. You guys are the ones that made me strong. I spent most of today with my guitar, so I couldn't think of smoking. Whenever I got the urge, I tried to learn another song. This was some advice I got from a guy I work with. He told me, if I want to smoke, pick up my guitar. I've played about 5 hours today. If I keep this up, I'll put Clapton to shame. Goofy Tomorrow, it's back to work. Less to worry about? No smokes My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 7 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 280 Amount Saved: $44.10 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 8 Mins: 25 Seconds: 31

Goofy, you are doing so well - in the infamous words of Queen "Don't stop me now, I'm having such good time" seems to apply (ha! Not!). My husband and I are going thru the same thing, just in a different time zone (New Zealand) and a bit further on. It really does get so much better, I promise you! The first two weeks were a nightmare for us - we had no choice but to stop, it was all triple bypass this/heart stopping that (him, not me), boo hoo, health probs yah de yah de yah yah, blah blah blah. Now it's all I can breath this, I can do 100 press-ups that (without getting too health conscious etc). I've found your quit can be what you choose - are you "missing out" or are you "missing nothing". This time, I like to think it's the latter, just a matter of changing your perspective. Keep it up Goofy, you can both do it, make it, cream it, whatever it takes to get thru. It's all good. From "Down Under" we send you a big helping thought. Kia Kaha. Good Morning!! I forgot to set the clocks back. Feeling pretty good today. Tonight will be a full week. Way to go team!! OMT, sprquits, you're the best. Martha, Tresa, JDK, Alohakeia, I hope I haven't left anyone out, Thanks for being here. I know most of you guys have been smokeless for a while now, but your continued support is quite an inspiration. I know we still have a way to go to be "out of the woods", but checking in here often, and posting our complaints and fears, makes the quit a little easier to deal with. I was smoking two packs a day!
