Kev, you know that smoking can hide a lot of other problems and depression is a very common one. It's important to remember that smoking never actually HELPED, in fact it kept you from recognizing the problem and therefore from getting real help.
You know there are people right here, including me, who have struggled or continue to struggle with emotional health issues. Can you imagine Lady or yours truly stuck in the house for 117 days, afraid to go anywhere, and not doing anything about it? Not bloody likely.
If you think you are depressed, then for heaven's sake, see a doctor. There are so many treatments available now, nobody has to let a thing like that run their life anymore.
You are a young, single guy and there isn't a good reason in the world for you to be stuck at home with your parents all the time.
Pen is right, you should be going out, having fun, doing things & meeting people.
Life is to be lived and it won't wait for you. You have to run after it & grab it like a train.
Remeber, most of our regrets are for things we DIDN'T do.
