I don't get a chance to post much because work is busy and family is busy too, but I wanted to pop in and share that I'm still doing good on Chantix. I'm 28 days smoke free and hanging in there. I'd love to say I'm going "GREAT", but I have my bad moments and bad days. The cravings sometimes nag at me like a child, relentless, and just when I think it's never going to end...it quietly fades and my thoughts are mine again. I'm having surgery in December, and this is stressing me out, but it is not the reason I quit, nor is it the motivator that keeps me going, because the surgery is going to come and go, so my reasons for quitting have to endure the test of time and life's stresses. In 28 days, advantages for me to being quit include: 1) Having more time with family because I'm not outside having cigs 2) Talking to my kid's at a much greater length because I'm not trying to get away for a "cig break" 3) I actually smell like soap and perfume and not like an ashtray 4) I'm enjoying the smell of the season, Fall smells WONDERFUL! 5) Watching a movie all the way through without pausing for 5 cigerette breaks These are not all the advantages to quitting, but just a few I have noticed over the past 28 days. I'm keeping my quit and staying strong against cravings. I don't want to fail this time!!!!
