...elegantly, the linens freshly ironed. A bowl of olives, a bunch of grapes, a little basket full of tiny tomatoes. A board with cheeses from four countries, a bottle of Merlot from France. This, just to start the celebration. Next a salad, Spinach with toasted pine nuts, Papaya Poppyseed, crumbled bacon and just a teensy grating of Gruyere. This followed by a small bowl of Rabbit Bouillion with garlic toast points. Really just a broth that's on it's way to greater things, stopped by this meal to celebrate. Now the entree! A Rib Roast done up perfectly, crusted with salt and herbs and fresh ground pepper. A thick slice on each plate, pink and juicy, fork tender, Prime Rib. Beside it on the plate are tiny fingerling potatoes, oven roasted in rich Duck Drippings with fresh Rosemary. Whole Green Beans and a sprig of Parsley add color and finish the plate. The last of the wine is poured, Vive La France!
Dessert? Oh my friends, I pondered long and hard for this surprise.
A rich chocolaty brownie, with walnuts, iced with Buttercream. Wrapped up and FRIED! Sprinkled with powdered sugar, drizzled with more Chocolate and served up with Ice Cream and coffee grown in Nyarit Mexico.
Was it wrong to celebrate a little early? TWO MONTHS and counting!!!
