Spunkyjj I feel your pain...this really sucks having to admit that something as stupid as cigaretts has such a hold over us. You can do this! Life is short enough without having to make it even shorter by smoking! I'm sure you can find a way to keep from smoking. remember NOPE not one puff ever My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/14/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 4 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 80 Amount Saved: $19.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 20 Mins: 20 Seconds: 28

JJ- Good for you!!! Get rid of them and look at it as a slip up and keep up the good fight!!! You deserve to be healthy, happy, and not smelling like a stinky ashtray!!! Yes...take a nap, shower, walk, whatever it takes. if you need to "hide out" as you recuperate in the evenings and weekends, do it!!! This is your time where you need to be, dare I say, selfish?? Please use your nonsmoking friends and family!!! Stick by them...you will be surprised how this will strenghthen your resolve. You can do this if you TRULY want this. You did not become a smoker overnight and you will not change your habits overnight!!! Good for you, Spunkyjj! Keep it up. This is not an easy thing to do so don't be too hard on yourself. Remember to give yourself credit for what you are accomplishing. These first days are the hardest. My body, mind and emotions seemed to be those of someone else. I didn't even recognize myself. You will be okay. I promise! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 54 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,620 Amount Saved: $315.90 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 20 Mins: 36 Seconds: 44

So with some more reading and how much i am crying i have decided that the cigarettes will be gone by 1pm today. I will be getting rid of them so that i can look at the 2 i had this morning as a mistake a slip not a complete failure!! I spoke to Cal7773 this am( my sister) who was a little harsh, but truthful and she gave it to me straight, and said well it doesnt look like your ready or you would have only bought on pack!!! She was right and i got mad at smoking!! So thats the end of that. I am on the wagon and ready to fight again!!! So Dont count me out Rusty!! I am here.. and the next time i feel like i am having the worst time ever!! I know i need to do more than be angry!! I am going to say NO!! and take a Nap or walk until the urge is gone ( or the bad attitude) or... remember if i start,, it will take me months to stop!! there is no such thing as i will smoke what i have and start again. thats the addiction.. I am better then the addiction. and if i am angry at a situation, i am actually dealing with it verses sucking it down with cigarettes.. It is okay to have feelings.. I dont have to hide them with Smoking.. YEAH.. So take my number of smokes not smoked minus 2.. and my meter is still going!!! Secondly, i did not have cigarettes around i bought them this morning on my way to work.. I will quit again, and i understand that my thinking has to change as you pointed out in my sentences.. Thank you for the suggestions.. Hi Spunky. I'm sorry you fell off the wagon. I'm struck by a couple of your sentences:
I am not able to throw the rest of the pack out.
Sorry to be rude, but you can't pick up that pack and dump it in the sink? What is stopping you? If you can get to the sink, if you can turn the water on, you can drown that pack.
I have stressful event comming up next weekend
You will have a stressful event coming up for the rest of your life. Have you ever NOT had a time like that? I haven't. So when's the time that you anticipate perfect tranquility?
You see my Husband and i would like to have a baby
How can you possibly think about having a baby while you are an active user of a drug?
I fell this morning off my wagon.
And where did those cigarettes come from? You had them around "just in case" didn't you? Well, that's what "just in case" turns into...a relapse. I hope that you will not wait until next week to "feed your brain." Start now by observing your thinking. Only by taking control over your addiction can you be a successful quitter. You can do this!
