Hey, Lady. When I'm in a stressful or frustrating or nerve-wracking situation, I do everything I did when I smoked, except the smoking.
I take myself away from the immdiate situation, I get a drink of water or take a short walk for distraction. While I'm doing that, I breathe deeply and calm down. If I'm really upset, I think about soemthing else until I'm settled down enough to think about the problem at hand. Then I go back to the situation ready to deal with it logically & calmly.
Well, not every time. Somtimes I have to repeat those steps. But, see? It's all the same things we do when we go for a smoke, and it's those actions that actually calm us down, the getting away, the distraction, the breathing, etc. that actually calmed us. It never wasg the smoking.
Have a ood day, Lady, & do something nice for yourself, OK? I think you have a little reward coming for the tough times you've been having.
