grandma & kaiti, it sounds like you both have plans for something to do when that junkie starts whispering. Good for you both, that's the way to confuse her. Eventualy, she won't try so hard or so often.
Also, when you hear that little voice in your ear, try shouting "WOOHOO!!" You can't feel bad when you'r shouting "WOOHOO!!" & the junkie hates it,makes her not feel needed!

Hey Grandma I would rather see you eat bacon and eggs than smoke. Sometime we just have to put our quit first. If you want food eat it, if you want to dance, dance, if you want............... just don't smoke!!!

Those voices you're right Sparky. I thought I had my day all planned out but my daughter cancelled on me as she had refrig repairman coming and it was the first rain ...can't go later in the rain. I was so hungry for bacon and eggs but since I started Weight watchers I wasn't sure. Good grief that took almost all my food allowance for the day and it is Friday so I can have a few glasses of wine. Can't smoke...can't eat well not much good stuff..can't drink... what am I supposed to do?? May as well be in jail or something. I got my straw and been sucking on it. Even if I sneaked to cig store, I would know I had one. This is not the fun weekend but I declare the pity party over and lit pumpkin candles. Going to UCD so gotta get the rest of the care package ready for my gs grandson .

Those darn voices. Look I know you know how to quit, let's keep it going. That sneaking around sucks. When I would return to smoking it was alway sneaking one now and then and then planning place to go so I could smoke. Darn when I would do that!!! The cost of the cigarette and the cost of what I shopped for that I didn't need ---WHY
Take the time you are going to have and relax, scream if you want, write, sleep, call some friends, you can and will do this I just know you will. Why? Because you are not alone, all of your cyber friends will be here.

I hear you kait,
I was a closet smoker and to this day my biggest triggers are
"alone time"
All of your plan ideas are great and will work.
When you accomplish this night you will be and feel stronger and incharge.
Each step brings you to the next level.

Kaiti, Plan to do other things that are nice for 'me time'. Things you would't have time for if the kids & Hubby were home. Like favorite movies to rent, bubble bath, or a home facial or a manicure or pedicure. :)

WOW, your right, the reason I started smoking was because my soon to be sister-in-law was a "closet smoker" and I thought I would try it. I would sneak cigs in my bedroom and wouldn't smoke around anybody for the first 3-6 months I was smoking. I didn't start smoking as a "social" smoker....I started as a private smoker. I NEVER thought about that!!! Then I would find a smoking buddy and we would SNEAK to have a cig. I was a sneaky smoker!!!! I can't believe I didn't realize this a long time ago....just never thought about it. No wonder my voices are having a small party in my head. Thanks Danielle!!!!

Kaitilina,
When you first started smoking - was that the reason? Maybe this appeal is stronger for you than most.
