Xena, I'm glad that you want it so much, because you're going to need to. It's going to hurt, it's not going to be comfortable... and every time the craving for a cig threatens to overwhelm you... you'll have to say "no", and then go on to the next craving. This isn't easy. For most of us it's very difficult. 4 hours, 4 days... four months. You take it a minute at a time, an hour at a time...whatever gets you through the day. I started out in exactly the same place that you are. We all did. And many of us are well beyond that now... because we just didn't accept failure as an option. Keep coming back to SSC, keep reading, keep talking about your experience, your hopes, dreams... all the things that keep you fighting to remain smoke free. Drink lots of water, suck on candy, use the patch or some other NRT if needed... Do WHATEVER you have to do in order to win your life back for one day; ...today. We'll be here for you and we'll be rooting for you... but the really hard work will be done by you. ...If you want this bad enough. We're here for you, Xena!! You can do this... Just accept whatever comes, and count that as the price of a new life. Take a deep breath, xena. Since you seem to feel panicky right now, I would definitely drown and smash those few remaining cigarettes. Why keep the temptation there? Your quit meter shows how many completed days smokefree, so tomorrow it will show one. Have you filled out the glove box and quit program workbooks? They really are helpful. What have you planned for coping strategies? Hopefully you are drinking lots of cold water to flush the toxins out. The only way to get through the first few days is to really want to not smoke more than you want to smoke. Breathe deeply, drink water, distract yourself. You can do this. You've done it before. Keep close, read, read, read, and post often. Can you get on IM? I'll open mine up in case you want to chat My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 198 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,920 Amount Saved: $1,346.40 Life Gained: Days: 27 Hrs: 16 Mins: 29 Seconds: 14

I'm 4 hours smoke free. I already feel like crying! I want this so much, want to feel proud of myself and I want to live! Waht do i do at night when I get a craving? I still have a few left in the house. A friend who's quitting with me told me it doesn't matter if i have them here as I need to fight the urge and see them and not care. Please help! Any pointers on what to do when tress is high, specially in the morning when I wake up? And my quit meter still says 0 days! Will it start tomorrow? Thank you!
