Thanks, Lady. That's nice of you to say. I don't mean to sound like I know everything about dieting. When I post, I'm usually saying what is going on in my own life and sharing it for what it might be worth.
In any case, I am trying to watch my language as I work this eating plan. I'm trying not to say "I can't have xx or yy." In the grocery store last night, I would catch myself walking down the aisles saying "No, not that", "No, can't have that." In the middle of the store, I switched the words in my head to "What good stuff can I have?" and that helped me to think more clearly with my head instead of my emotions. For instance, I was craving a salty snack and stood in the chips aisle gazing longingly at the crunchy Cheetos. Then I realized that I can have pretzels and there are lots of choices there.`I bought some, but I haven't even opened the package because the craving passed.
Diets and eating plans are just guides to give us a route to our goals. We have to choose what works best for US and which fits with our lifestyle. That's why it's a good idea to explore different ones -- Weight Watchers, South Beach, OA, Sugarbusters, Sparkpeople is a very good one that a lot of us use. Mayo Clinic has some great plans, too. Google is your friend!
