Good for you, Boomer! You have a wonderful attitude about this. It is obvious you mean business. The gym is a great idea. Working out was one of the main things that kept me going the first two weeks. Keep it up! :8|: My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 43 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,290 Amount Saved: $251.55 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 21 Mins: 5 Seconds: 39

Monday will start at the gym, I believe it will help... feeling more healthy adds distance to the thought of smoking I believe. Funny, my mother came to spend the weekend with me, she smokes ...LOL. But now she is forbidden to smoke inside and after she uses the ashtrays she has to wash them... I told her "or you do it this way or you wont be coming here for the next 2 months".. LOL.. poor mom. She decided to cooperate. :))))

Another day goes without any difficulty. I just feel like a cig when I sit at the computer, I work on a computer... now with a water bottle on the table. Getting in to my third day and feeling ok and happy. I have been feeling more sleepy as usual, I know its just my body starting to get used to no tobacco and initializing some healing processes and detox. It would be bad if I couldn't sleep (insomnia) but happily it is not my case. :)))) My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/4/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 40 Amount Saved: $2.72 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 9 Mins: 38 Seconds: 53

I know! I have been drinking up to 3 liters of water a day, I believe it will as well help with the detox. I agree, water fulfills the desire of smoking but it has to be chilled and in large dose...

boomer38 You are SO SO SO RIGHT about the water...Water does it everytime...In the early days I, like you had a bottle with me always. There is something to the need for water and desire for a cigarette...I ma glad that you have gotten hold of this idea early on. It will serve you well...For the most part we are dehydrated most of the time in any case, we just don't realize it unless our body is screaming for water.... nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 285 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 8,550 Amount Saved: $2,992.50 Life Gained: Days: 52 Hrs: 0 Mins: 26 Seconds: 54

Being bad and mean helps with the cravings.. LOL, just joking. I feel the answer is water, if smoking comes to my mind I don't even conclude the thought, I drink cold water, and if I am at home shower.. cold too! Now every were I go I have a bottle of cold water. I don't think I will reward myself on a daily basis, now at the beginning it will be weekly.
