Never too old for a smoking dream?

:) Thanks Kelly! That makes me feel a little better. Maybe that ole junkie has lost his power over me while I'm awake and can only whine and snivel and make me dishonest in my sleep. lol, Greger. If it makes you feel any better, I had a similar dream last week. I smoked an entire cigarette and enjoyed it! Then I convinced myself that it was only a slip even though I planned to do it again. In the dream, I made the decision to continue to smoke on occasion and continue to come here and never tell anyone. Haha. I felt like a bit of a jerk when I woke up too but I had to laugh. I had no idea I was so devious and sneaky! ;p My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 39 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,170 Amount Saved: $228.15 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 13 Mins: 9 Seconds: 4

I did smoke in my dream last night. Kind of makes me ashamed, the truly sad part about this dream though was that I conciously thought about whether to tell you guys or not and decided not to. I woke up just feeling dirty. If something unthinkable happens and I should fail or even consider it I'd like to promise once again that I will come here first. Thank you all for you great insight. Every step of this journey is facinating to me. There's so much unexplored turf here I don't want to miss a thing. Thank you again. Tom, How wonderful for you that you did not smoke in your dream, I have only had one smoking dream but it was so real that when I woke I felt terrible that I smoked, it took me a couple of minutes to realize it was only a dream, I can't wait to get to the point I never smoke again awake or asleep. Tom, I think it means that, even in your dreamns, you see smoking as messed up. Do we ever smell anything in dreams, btw? I don't think I do. Anyway, I think it's a corner turned, too. I have only had a couple of smoking dreams but I have woken up a few times with a smoky taste in my mouth and no memory of any dream, & wondered for a sec. Freaky. Cigarettes Not Smoked

I think smoking dreams are one of the most bizarre side effects of quitting. I still get one every now and then. Sometimes I smoke (and I wake up horrified) and sometimes I don't (and I wake up feeling smug). Who knows what this all means LOL! Cigarettes Not Smoked

Tom - I would absolutely consider that dream a corner turned. It appears that now even your subconscious has the junkie beaten. That is fantastic! I think you should throw a party, that's how fantastic I think it is! :) Now, would your subconscious please have a talk with my subconscious cuz I keep freakin myself out and smoking in my dreams? It's so bad that I can taste and smell the residuals from that dream cig when I wake up. Well, I'll just look forward to beating the junkie in my dreams around day 200. Good for you, Tom! Seriously, time for a party ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 38 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,140 Amount Saved: $222.30 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 10 Mins: 15 Seconds: 18
