Hi Gen, I thought of you today as I was telling my friend about how well Scotland did in the rugby. Well I am hanging in there, writing for england and listening to chillout stuff. I am preparing a set of mini musings as I may be away a while. I'll post them tomorrow. Unhooked, I know how you feel. The one who smokes is obviously not rich :) Smokes cost a lot nowadays. And I don't think his big or clever (thats the drummer). I haven't heard it but may check it out. I don't often say this but I am really proud of both of you. Those stats are ultra impressive. I should say it more often as it is not only newbies that should be encouraged you know. I'm still fighting for all I am worth and am currently battling the junkie with a nice tea and victoria sponge! I plan to make it to bed smokefree and that makes me very happy. So until tomorrow, I shall say good day/goodnight, dont let the bedbugs bite. Unhooked, Get outraged. Just don't smoke. And as for that guy in the band who does..... Well he's just a sorry soul. You're right. I don't have the first idea what you're talking about but I don't like to think of you so irate. It's scary. Hi Kev. Hope you are OK today. Gen :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 188 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,008 Amount Saved: 940.00 Life Gained: Days: 24 Hrs: 22 Mins: 42 Seconds: 12

I'm sure this won't mean anything to you UK buddies but I am OUTRAGEd at what I heard on teh radio this morning. Seems that Big 'N Rich ( A freakin' COUNTRY music band) has covered ACDC's "You Shook Me". I'm pretty sure you can google it & actually HEAR what they did to what is possibly the greatest rock 'n roll song ever written. This has to stop. Country bands should just not be allowed to cover rock classics, period. End of story. I mean, what's next, Keith Urban sings Zeppelin????? Oh yeah & I heard one of the guys in Big 'N Rich smokes, too. Kelly, you know I had to search on it! It seems Cameo did 'Word Up' then a glasgow band called GUN (which is why you have not heard of it) and then Korn. Sadly it seems the spice girls have a song by the same name. I hope they did not try to cover it. Anyway, the word up today is (Managing to keep it on a smoking subject) 'I Kev, promise my friend Kelly that I too will not smoke today!' ;) Just don't get me started on the all-saints version of RHCP's 'Under the bridge' .. .. :) :) :) Enough from me today. I am off home. Giving everyone a chance to breathe until tomorrow. Kev!!! That is the song but Korn did it in the 90's so I'm guessing Gun's is a cover. I love that song. Just a happy, get on your feet, fun song. As for the square, thank you. How nice of you to design one for me and such a thoughtful, positive one at that. :) The pic w/ Brad and me is at a pumpkin patch which reminds me that it's almost Halloween again. Better think about this years pumpkin carvings. Maybe I'll do a no-smoking jack-o-lantern. What do you think? Oops! Got distracted... Swapping playlists sounds like fun! My collection is built of mostly punk, alternative and rock with some metal thrown in. So, if you're into that, let's do it. ;) Have a great day, Kev! I promise not to smoke today. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 38 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,140 Amount Saved: $222.30 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 10 Mins: 13 Seconds: 14

Morning peeps, Gen, ah well, it seems that I already jumped the gun, got the wrong idea and ended up designing a square for you (see below somewhere) and another one on the thread as everyone was talking about emotions etc. Unhooked nicked humour so I did reflection. I feel you may need to setup an emergency stitching session shortly. :) I've been given machine washable crayons until I learn not to prick my fingers with the needle. Kelly, great design! Good luck with the stitching, it seems rather involved. I had trouble just making a denim pencilcase when I was 14 with the simple words 'KEVIN' as a school project. That was the point I decided to not to persue a career as a fashion designer. As a 14 year old, having scantily clad girls run around you seemed like the perfect job! :) :) Right, in which case, as I am on form, then I shall return the favour and do one for you as well. That'll mean I have done one for you and Gen plus an emotion square. For you I see a colour co-ordinated square (I remember from the first pic). A big smiley yellow emoticon face. With colour co-ordinated bow in the hair and metal chains hanging from the belt with ribbons of the same material that was used for the bow. Now I had better explain the reasons behind my ideas. I already explained the colour co-ordination. I picked that out from the pic where you are holding your grandson at what appears to be a racetrack of some sort (I spotted some flags in the background). The smiley face for a smiley person who always brings light to these forums. The bow and chains? Ah well it has a double meaning (did I mention I was on form this morning :) ) The chains are to represent the rock music side of things and also your 'do it' attitude which has your junkie running scared. It is something I admire so much. And the bow? Well you can do all of this without losing your feminine touch. Thanks for the music list btw, I will start checking them out soon. I wondered straight away whether the first one is a cover of GUN's word up. Now I have 'All you pretty ladies around the world' and 'W' 'O' 'R' 'D' 'UP' playing in my head. I did get the links immediately though. Well thought out. I'll let you know what is my favourite one after a couple of listens. There's one band I never heard of before in that. Which is quite impressive. There would have been two if you didn't tell me about Rise Against. :) All of this does have a smoking reference as my junkie has a very hard time when I am looking up music and I think it is a great way to keep our quits as in 'we can swap playlists as long as neither of us smokes!' There will be more to come from me today no doubt. I am making the most of it before my junkie tells me not to write again and I feel the need to re-arrange permission :) Aloha brought up an interesting subject which I have yet to come to grips with. I will investigate it further. Anyway, enough yattering from me. Oh!!! The ipod could be writing short stories in it's no smoking journal! I think Kev may need multiple squares, guys. ;p My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 37 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,110 Amount Saved: $216.45 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 8 Mins: 27 Seconds: 56

Gen - I picture Kev's square being an ipod with little musical notes rising from it both sheltered from the rain by a big yellow umbrella in the shape of a sunflower. (If I could, I'd have the ipod taking a bubble bath but that makes no sense at all. ;p) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 37 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,110 Amount Saved: $216.45 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 8 Mins: 25 Seconds: 59

Hello Kev. Gosh you have been busy on this site! Going back about 100 years ago you were talking about the quit quilt... The answer is that you are to make a square to add to the quilt so that we end up with a huge one with all the quitters contributing. You sound fine today which is always good news. Keep up the good work. All the best.
