Glad you're feeling better, ttin. You're right, that probably won't be your last crazy moment. On fire is OK, as long as you're not smoking! Cigarettes Not Smoked

Good morning, everyone. Thanks so much for the support! I am feeling better today. My head is clearer than its been in years, I'm glad to say. I know this won't be my last crazy patch. Its a work in progress. I guess I was feeling overwhelmed by the onslaught of emothions and realizations. Strangely enough, I feel more welcoming towards it today. I am trying to pick through it more slowly and putting all the pieces in their place. I know I don't have to do it all in one day. Its impossible, anyway. And thats okay. :) ttin. ttin, I don't envy you. Being in Hell week, all those thoughts running through your head, second guessing everything and everyone around you, all the inside turmoil. I remember those feelings like it was yesterday. You are in hell week and what you are going through is all part of the process. You are an addict going through withdrawal. The only way to get through it is to go through it. Quitting is tough at many different stages but you can do it. You have to want it more than anything in the world. You have to be willing to do whatever it takes to not smoke. Whatever means whatever! You kick, scream, cry, fight, break dishes, punch a pillow, tare paper into shreads, "whatever", you just don't smoke. I consider this traveling the road less traveled. So many decide it just isn't worth it and they give up and go back to where they came from. The strong dig deep inside and push through all the obsticals in their way continuing to travel down the road. Lean on your SSC friends here for support. They will help you over those branches in the road, guide you through the obsticals. Those in front of you will watch out for you, those with you will hold your hand and those behind you will push you forward. Use all the resources here. Get your ice water, gum, mints, candy, straw, and other coping mechinisms. When all else fails, take a bubble bath and go to bed. Tomorrow is always a new day. Think before you speak and apologize often. You are an addict going through withdrawal. What you are going through and feeling right now is only temporary. Keep marching forward. And this, my friend, is why they call it Hell Week. There's a lot of anger, frustration and craziness at first. It gets better but the lessons you learn may last longer. Don't go around kicking yourself for a decision you made when you were a teenager, we cant go back so let's plot a course to a better life. Now is the time to start rewarding yourself with something that wont kill you. Now is the time to start loving yourself. Battling the anger in yourself for damaging your health for so many years! I've been having crazy time also! Just keep going and allow yourself time to cry and scream. Quiting sucks but smoking sucks more. Ttin, You're just waking up! I had the same feeling. Its a 'Holy Cow" moment, "where have I been for all those years"??? "Why didn't I do this 20 years ago"???? You have it right, it is about committment, committment to beating this addiction. Committment to following through, to getting it done, to closing that door behind us and never looking back. It's a lifetime committment to a new life. And you are doing it. You can never have another drag from a cigarette again. Period. Thats how you become a non smoker. One day at a time. So now just keep on doing it. Each hour of every day. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 205 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,125 Amount Saved: $2,162.75 Life Gained: Days: 25 Hrs: 3 Mins: 3 Seconds: 24
